Waves (One Piece AT fanfic, spoilers up to vol.80) by MajorasMasks
After the Fall (post-Dressrosa One Piece fanfic)Law woke up to a dull pain on his right shoulder. Suppressing a groan, he clasped it with his left hand and opened his eyes.
His head was still resting on the scabbard of his longsword as when he had fallen asleep, but thanks to his padded hat it didn't hurt.
Without moving, he looked around through half-lidded eyes. In the dim light, he recognised the small mill where they had been brought to hide from the marines.
Luffy was still sleeping; his crewmates were sprawled on the floor around his bed, and only Nico Robin was gracefully resting on a chair near the table. Their back against the wooden wall, Kyros and that idiot of Bellamy were snoring, too.
"Ouch!" Law hissed between his teeth as another burning pang assailed him, shooting through his right arm this time. The fact that he could feel it was a good sign, but he wondered if the powers of that dwarf, Manshelly, were enough for it to completely heal.
Maybe, I need antibiotics... He felt a bit feverish, but that wasn't what
A Monster's Tears (Doflamingo x Monet, OP fanfic)A Monster’s Tears
Just after the fall of Dressrosa, Viola was forced to reveal that she was a Devil’s Fruit user.
She didn’t know what had actually happened on that horrible night, but she refused to consider Donquixote Doflamingo her new king. To save her own father from certain death, though, she chose to serve under that fake king. Under that pirate.
Her skills were valuable assets to him, so she became “Violet”, an officer of the Donquixote Family.
Slowly she adapted to her new life, as she trained under the guidance of that disgusting man, Trebol. He had a vast knowledge about Devil’s Fruits, and in a few months Violet acquired powers that she had never imagined she would be able to possess.
Now, she could see as far as the line between the sea and the sky, and also into people’s mind. She was even able to use her own tears to fight, but she had another power too.
  Viola (Violet!, she reminded herse
All is Lost (OP, post-Dressrosa Doflamingo poem)A silent prison is all he has left, but silence is the last thing he wants.
Bound in seastone chains, he can't even move, and the pain in his chest is driving him insane.
He doesn't remember if they gave him first aid, and keeps shifting in and out of consciousness while dreading the moment lights will be turned on.
Strings have fallen—everything has fallen—and only his ambition is keeping him from falling apart, too.
He's naked, now. Bare eyes blinking tiredly in the darkness, bare shoulders trembling against the cold floor, bare thoughts threatening to escape his lips.
The shades the coat the smile the mocking remarks... They're all gone, pummelled away by the embodiment of "inherited will."
He has been defeated, and soon a justice not his own will come and claim his soul.

of surviving back then?
You never showed tears
concealed behind shades
yet you wept on that day
under their vengeful stares.
A helpless, frail body
you were but a child—
maybe nasty, misguided
but still an innocent life.
Yet they harmed and mocked—
their frustration and sadness
and pent-up hate for your kind
all misdirected at you—Why?
Why living like them, if people
are all the same? Why giving up
on power, if they harm and slay
and abuse as well? Why, Father?
Your Brother was weak—or so
you believed—he didn't protest
but accepted everything, while

A proud, strong will to always abide
a force within you to rise 'n shine

to make YOU shake and cry in pain.
"I won't die," you screamed, "whatever you do,
"I will survive and find the very last one of you!"

And then you would kill them, they d

I wrote the draft of this fanfic more than one year ago, soon after reading chapter 778 of One Piece. It's mostly based on old headcanons of mine, and especially on a now outdated theory about Trebol's role in the story. I know that he's quite out of character here, but I still wanted to explore this alternate version of him so I decided to finally revise this fanfic and publish it as my contribution for the "role reversal" prompt of the One Piece Rare Pairs event on Tumblr.
I think this story fits it quite well, considering Doflamingo's role in it (from puppeteer to puppet) and his relationship with Trebol (in a familial and mentor-mentee sense).

I hope you'll like it, and if you find anything that needs to be fixed please tell me!  ^^
Tumblr post.

A/N:
- Mild mature content for minor swearing and sensitive topics.
- I think that this short story is understandable even for who doesn't read/watch One Piece, anyway Devil's Fruits are mysterious fruits that give people, animals, or even objects magical powers of any kind, and each one is unique. In this story I mentioned only Trebol's fruit, which is referred to as a disgusting one since it turned this character into a glue-man, basically, and he looks like a blob of goo. I also hinted at Doflamingo's powers, strings control/creation, which derive from the fruit he ate.
- For OP readers/watchers: please notice that I now have a new theory about Vergo's past; you can read it here, but it contains spoilers about the current One Piece arc (the one after Zou)!

Ooh, what a great read! I gotta admit I picked this one out of your folder by random tonight, but these themes fit my current mood perfectly. I really enjoyed this interpretation of the characters and the mysteries still surrounding them. It's one of those rare thought-provoking stories that really make you think deeply, outdated or not. ^^
I loved how you started this, it really draws the reader in! It's so twisted that I could easily imagine Oda pulling off something like that. And the ending was absolutely perfect with Doffy having to face the reality and to reflect on his life until that point - without losing himself even then (I'm really looking forward to see this happen in canon, whenever that is). Reminds me of the many reasons why you are among my absolute favorite authors. :aww:
