Brook’s Nakama Song

Are you ready for the New World?
My SOUL’s never been so FULL
the adventure never so impetuous
and the crew never so cool!

The first is our captain
he has the bravest of hearts
and everyone he captivates

The second, a proud samurai
his swords are made of courage
on him you can always depend

The third, a skilled navigator
cartographer and meteorologist
who loves sweet tangerines

The fourth, the creative sniper
a liar telling only true lies
to become a warrior of the sea

The fifth is our dear cook
cheerful and often romantic
but also with a keen mind

The sixth, a small yet big doctor
he is a monster of kindness
and the mascot of the crew

The seventh, once was an enemy
in the world is the last archaeologist
and her knowledge is a real treasure

The eight, the cyborg shipwright
who’ll sail the brig sloop he built
to the end of the Grand Line

And then the ninth, all-bones,
is singing this silly song—
nice to meet you all!

Are you ready for the New World?
My SOUL’s never been so FULL
the adventure never so impetuous
and the crew never so cool!

No, please don’t go away!
I still need to introduce
Vivi, the Merry, and Laboon

About Vivi I heard the tale
of a princess who ended a war
in a desert where never rained

The late Merry instead was
a grateful caravel that
acquired a living soul

And finally, my friend
Laboon is still waiting
for me… I will be there soon!

Are you ready for the New World?
My SOUL’s never been so FULL
the adventure never so impetuous
and the crew never so cool!

I’m singing this silly, happy song
since the Sunny broke through
the thick mist of my solitude!

Are you ready for the New World?
My SOUL’s never been so FULL
the adventure never so impetuous
and the crew never so cool!

Are you ready for the New World?
My SOUL’s never been so FULL
the adventure never so impetuous
and the crew never so cool!
MY ONE PIECE LITERATURE DEVIATIONS (more here):
Brothers (One Piece ASL poem, contains spoilers)Brothers
A cross to never forget three
brotherhood-bounded crimson cups
as vivid as his burning heart
dreaming to become Pirate King.
Captain of eight, rushing ahead,
towards his dreams and the unknown
while wearing proudly a straw hat
that is nothing less than a crown.
For it, he's grateful to a man
who had made an audacious bet
in the village of the windmills
lapped by a peaceful sky-blue sea.
Back then, he met his two brothers
and they became a family:
loving and helping each other,
searching for gold in a landfill.
Nearby, a revolting city
where a dragon the future saw
as he patiently listened to
a noble boy's ashamed pleadings;
A boy who is now his talons
and who is fighting for freedom,
he's working from behind the scenes
while changing his very own fate.
Everlasting, the memory
of their brother who in the war
burnt down but whose fire's still living:
will he return for the One Piece?
[One Piece] Feathered Dragon (Doflamingo poem)Born among dragons
to suffer amid men
which were the odds
of surviving back then?
You never showed tears
concealed behind shades
yet you wept on that day
under their vengeful stares.
A helpless, frail body
you were but a child—
maybe nasty, misguided
but still an innocent life.
Yet they harmed and mocked—
their frustration and sadness
and pent-up hate for your kind
all misdirected at you—Why?
Why living like them, if people
are all the same? Why giving up
on power, if they harm and slay
and abuse as well? Why, Father?
Your Brother was weak—or so
you believed—he didn't protest
but accepted everything, while
a voice in you cried, "FIGHT BACK!"
A proud, strong will to always abide
a force within you to rise 'n shine
above all those fools who did dare
to make YOU shake and cry in pain.
"I won't die," you screamed, "whatever you do,
"I will survive and find the very last one of you!"

And then you would kill them, they d

the sole survivor of a white storm of greed

All is Lost (OP, post-Dressrosa Doflamingo poem)A silent prison is all he has left, but silence is the last thing he wants.
Bound in seastone chains, he can't even move, and the pain in his chest is driving him insane.
He doesn't remember if they gave him first aid, and keeps shifting in and out of consciousness while dreading the moment lights will be turned on.
Strings have fallen—everything has fallen—and only his ambition is keeping him from falling apart, too.
He's naked, now. Bare eyes blinking tiredly in the darkness, bare shoulders trembling against the cold floor, bare thoughts threatening to escape his lips.
The shades the coat the smile the mocking remarks... They're all gone, pummelled away by the embodiment of "inherited will."
He has been defeated, and soon a justice not his own will come and claim his soul.
Before his unshielded eyes, memories from a hellish past turn into visions: his father's bloodied head in his hands; soldiers from a
[One Piece] Zoro and Luffy one shotThe Straw Hat Pirates had landed on an uncharted island in the New World. Not far from the rocky seaside they could see a waterfall, a forsaken village next to it, and a tall mountain—or maybe a volcano?—standing at the very center of the otherwise hilly landscape.
The island looked uninhabited, so most of them decided to disembark and take a better look around.
Nami was the first one to jump on the beach, forcing Usopp to follow her as her body guard. But that was just an excuse, since she actually needed someone who would carry a heavy-looking bag full of the instruments the navigator used to draw maps and check the meteorology of the places they visited.
Sanji had gotten jealous of Usopp and had tried to take his place of course, but Nami had ignored him while dragging the sharpshooter after her.
Whatever Nami was planning to do it would take hours to complete, so Zoro decided to go and take a walk too.
Luffy had immediately followed him, exclaiming, “So you won
[One Piece] There for Him, a Straw Hat Pirates ficHe was on the ground, panting—almost wheezing, out of breath and battered. Blood covered his body, clothes, everything. And yet, he stood up again. He could only see through one eye, the other closed and swollen. His hair was disheveled and his limbs were trembling, but his gaze was still unwavering.
He would keep fighting. He would do it for him, too. He wouldn’t be able to give him back his treasure, but he would prove to him that he was a worthy pirate now: a pirate deserving to wear the straw hat once belonged to Shanks the Sea Emperor—and to the Pirate King before him.
Monkey D. Luffy turned to face his enemy again: Blackbeard, the man who had killed Shanks and who was after the Pirate King title just like him.
“Luffy, are you ok?”
The worried tone of Nami’s voice pulled Luffy back from his dream... No, not a dream. More like a vision—a terrible one—about his own future. After his fight against Katakuri of the Big Mom Pirates,

I accept literature commissions, both fiction (creative writing) and non-fiction, please read this journal for more info: fav.me/d3okj0m .
I can write in English and Italian, and I can also do translations from and to both languages.

My contribution for the the “nakama” prompt of the One Piece Week. I wrote the draft of this song more than one year ago (I had originally planned to include it in my fanfic "Waves"), and since it was perfect for the prompt I finally decided to revise and post it. I hope you like it, and please tell me if there are typos or lines you think I should reword!   ^^
