Silence
Earlier you stood alone,
Cold rain pouring down;
You didn’t care but smiled and joked,
Talked about bells and lies.
Black hair, white shirt, blue jeans
Justice was your game;
But I knew you wanted more,
I could see it in your eyes.
Family and friends, a kiss from a girl,
A normal life you yearned for;
But your haunted (and haunting) gaze
Was not normal at all.
Your manners too were weird,
Tea and sweets all you ate,
Yet without almost sleeping
You lived, fought and played.
More peculiar, the way you sat:
Knees folded under your chin
The chair was like a throne and
Your world data on a screen.
Between your lips, a finger,
Pale skin and messy hair;
You were someway handsome,
I wouldn’t have called you kind.
Your Justice was steel-like,
We had so much in common:
Haters of defeat, mind-games lovers,
Though different dreams we sought.
You fell under my laws today
And I watched you die;
This is my day of glory:
I smirked, I screamed, I cried.
I crushed you Ryuuzaki,

But only ruled by fear; your

In the twilight to then disappear
Nevertheless I warned you
Didn't I dear Raito-kun?
That Kira's deeds were evil
That Justice would have won
Yet back then only the rain
Was listening to my prayer
While you were playing God
With Misa as your Archangel
I really hate to admit it
But I lost to you at that time
Yet I'm still here watching
You running from your life
My murder, my enemy
My first and only friend
Your turn’s come to pay
Justice will prevail again

God is watching over you

While you walk on the darkest of streets

But I wonder just one thing:
What will He do if I die?

Death Note – analysis of the animated series
The lack of values, the pressure of the society on the Japanese youth, the searching for the real justice, the boredom, the necessity to find a purpose for our own existence… if I would like to sum Death Note up in few words, I would write that it contains all these themes and expresses them in a really original way.
But this awesome animated adaptation of Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba's manga (the second name is a pseudonymous of the story writer, who wishes to remain anonymous) deserves a deeper analysis for sure.
Death Note manages to convey values without being banal; it manages to make you laugh, cry, arrive to the point of throwing the first object one can pose their hands on to the screen for the anger (or so it was for me).
This analysis contains heavy spoilers so I advice you to only read it if you've already completed the vision of the anime, and it contains my personal interpretation of some elements of the serie
